Silence by Peter Lilly

We paddle in a rippling sky,
Clouds tremble in our wake,
Ducks dive through the sun
Into the mirky red-brown space
Between our keel and the
Silt-soft bed of the universe.
Suspended in the silence between worlds
On the silken spider’s string
Of a reflective surface,
We listen.

Peter Lilly is a British Poet living in the South of France. His debut Collection “An Array of Vapour” is forthcoming with TSL publications.
